Note: Patient should be symptomatic. Up to 50% of infants and a significant percentage of CF patients carry C. difficile as normal flora. Testing in these groups may produce false positive results. Interpret results in conjunction with clinical conditions. If Toxin and GDH results disagree, the test automatically reflexes to CD Toxin PCR to confirm.
